The first trip (on a Sunday) featured one of the most stuffed pastrami sandwiches I've eaten (see picture below on the left). The flavor was good and I certainly wouldn't be against eating it again, but there was something just a little off... it could be seen in the texture and look of it -- a smoother, slicker, less-textured, less-darkened-edge pastrami with a more rubbery (but not in a bad way) feel.
On the second trip (six days later on Saturday), I ordered a different menu item, while my friends ordered the hot pastrami. I noticed immediately that the pastrami looked different than what I had received on Sunday and that there was much less pastrami on the sandwich (see picture below on the right). My friends offered me some strips of pastrami, followed by me eating a bunch more it... and it was hands-down the second-best pastrami I've tasted (second, of course, to the 2nd Ave Deli)! It was absolutely delicious with the right flavor and texture, just not as creamy as 2nd Ave's... Maybe there's a different cook on Saturdays than on Sundays?
I also tried one of their round knishes, which was taller than it was wide, and this, too, was delicious with the flavor of chicken soup permeating the knish.
